What Causes Stabbing Pain In Upper Thigh?

Hi I play football and I m a goalkeeper from kicking goalies I have a stabbing horrendous pain in my right upper thigh it s ok to run on and job but when I kick a ball it s instantly painful.it s also painful to touch and when relaxed feels as if it s spasming or someone is pulling at my muscle. I have a rugby match toMoro and I m unsure whether to risk playing

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to tendonitis. Better to get it examined by an orthopedician to rule out that. Rest and ice application will give you improvement. You can also take over the counter NSAIDs like ibuprofen. Applying gels containing NSAIDs like nimusulide or diclofenac, capsaicin and methyl salicylate will be helpful also.
