What Causes Stabbing Pain In The Middle Of Chest?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...i have a sharp stabbing pain in the middle of my chest under the thyroid gland that only lasts for a second and it leaves me with a dizzy spell and sometimes a head spin .. Sometimes i feel a fast pulse in my lower throat after the sharp pain that happens in the middle of my chest .

Hi,
Localized chest pain is rarely cardiac. But stabbing chest pain can be because of abnormality in integrity of aortic wall. Considering the dizzy spells, the possibilities of it is pretty high.
So to rule it out, i will recommend you for a 2D Echo of the heart & aorta.
If that is normal you can get a TMT done to rule out coronary disease as other possible cause.
