What Causes Stabbing Pain In Head And Loss Of Appetite After A Head Injury?

Hi, Here s the thing, took a bad fall in jujitsu, hard throw and slammed my head into the ground. I wasn t overly concerned, i had incidents in the past where I ve hit my head and lost my vision for 5 - 10 minutes. I was nauseos and confused but it appeared to go away so i didn t bother trying to get an appointment with NHS. Since then I ve noticed a marked decrease in appetite and severe headaches and now I m a bit concerned, it s been two weeks since the fall, I ve abstained from sports but today I began getting these odd sporadic stabs of pain in one specific area on the right side of my head, now i m thinking I should have gone in for an MRI. Please advise.

Hello,

It could be due to concussion, Late intracranial bleed. You should consult ER. They might advise NCCT head based on your symptoms. Further treatment will be decided after CT report. At home, you should:
- Take rest
- Drink plenty of fluids
- Take Paracetamol and/or Ibuprofen tab after prescription
- Avoid bright light and noise
- Take multiple small meals

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
