What Causes Squishy Tissue Development On The Vaginal Wall?

There s been some kind of squishy tissue inside my vagina for a long time now and it seems to block most of the opening. I never really thought much of it but when I recently tried to have sexual intercourse for the first time it hurt extremely, way more than friends told me it would, I felt like I was gonna faint and I have a pretty high pain tolerance. What should I do? Thank you!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The tissue you speaking of is the hymen. As time passes by with repeated intercourse your pain will subside. That's nothing to worry there. Its physiological and normal. If still, you feel uncomfortable to get yourself examined by gynaecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr ABHISHEK PRAYAG, General & Family Physician
