What Causes Squishing Noise In Ear When I Swallow?
I have a squishing noise in my left ear when I swallow. also have an in channel H aid in this ear. The noise occurs even when the HA is out. Went to a highly regarded specialist, ran hearing tests, and a thorough exam. said the problem is likely mechanical in nature,ie, bone structure changed through the years, I am 83. Personally I think it may be a sinus problem because the noise disappears every now and then.

Nothing to worry, The condition is called as Patent EUSTACHIAN TUBE, THE TUBE CONNECTS MIDDLE EAR CAVITY WITH NASOPHARYNX.
WHEN YOU SWALLOW/DRINK THE SOFT PALATE CLOSES THE NASO PHARYNX.
Due to ageing, the elasticity of the ET opening become loosen up and allows movement of air in and out. so you may hear the squishing/crunching noise while you swallow. This is age related.
