What Causes Spotting With Foul Smell And No Menstruation?

I am 55 years. Recently I have been spotting after not having a menstral cycle for about 6 months with a fishy smell. My vagina is not itchy nor Is the spotting heavy . I only see the blood when I wipe? What s wrong with me? Can this be treated at home? Help!

Hello,

No, this should not be neglected by treating at home. Since you are having post Menopausal age, these symptoms should be evaluated for uterine malignancy.

So better to consult a gynaecologist and get done a clinical examination of vagina, uterus, microscopic examination of discharge, pap smear and ultrasound examination of the lower abdomen.

You may need CT scan of abdomen if anything is positive in above tests. So consult a gynaecologist and discuss all these.
