What Causes Spotting Followed By Menstrual Bleeding?

Hi! I took a pregnancy test and it showed up with a negative test result, but 5mins later it had a smeared dye spot where the positive line appears. Am I pregnant. I had a period for 3 days then two days after my period I started spotting blood it s been a week im still spotting and having abdominal pain.

I doubt you are pregnant, but the bleeding and spotting should be looked into which is why I recommend a visit to your doctors office. But if at all it has not been 2 weeks since the unprotected sexual contact, then you may have conducted a pregnancy test too early. I would thus recommend a repeat home pregnancy test using an early morning urine sample to be conducted 2 weeks from the date of unprotected sexual contact or on or after the second day of a missed period.
