What Causes Spotting Along With Negative UPT Inspite Of Trying To Conceive?

I had a misscarriage at 13 weeks in august. I had a d&c and it took a couple months before I got a menstral cycle again. We have been trying to conceive with no luck. I am now on day 39 of my cycle with no period. I thought this was finally the time I got pregnant again. 3 neg pregnancy tests. Today I thought my period started as I had small amount of red blood when I wiped, I put in a tanpon but had only a few small dots of blood for the whole day. Could this be implantation? Could I actually be pregnant?!

Hello my Friend
Thanks for your question on HCM

The diagnosis of pregnancy requires a multifaceted approach using 3 main diagnostic tools. These are history and physical examination, laboratory evaluation, and ultrasonography.
Items that may confuse the diagnosis of early pregnancy are an atypical last menstrual period, contraceptive use, and a history of irregular menses. Additionally, as many as 25% of women bleed during their first trimester, further complicating the assessment.

An important test to do is the measure of Beta-human chorionic gonadotropin. Beta-hCG is detectable in the serum of approximately 5% of patients 8 days after conception and in more than 98% of patients by day 11.So for you is important to make a blood test of beta-hCG to be sure is you are or not pregnant.

Hope it is heplful to you this information
Best regards
