Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter is 10 and has has a small spot that is a light discoloration by her belly button. It has been there for several months and she said it doesn t hurt. Should it be checked out? It is a little larger than a quarter and was never a birth mark. She complains of stomach pain sometimes but I don t know if it s related.
As eper your query your daughter has spot on the belly button and she complained of stomach problems also . Well the symptoms you mention in query occur due to many reasons like stomach problems like food poisoning , side effect of medication , hernia , ulcer , pancreatic problem and sometimes urinary track infection can cause such symptoms . I would suggeat you to consult gastroenterologist fo proper diagnosis . Doctor will examine physically and order certain test like ultrasound test , skin test , blood test and endoscopy . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics or other medicine according to diagnosis or may refer you to specialist like allergy specialist .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
