What Causes Sporadic Distortions While Listening To Music?

I have recently noticed distortion when listening to music but only at certain fairly high frequencies and only when using headphones. It occurs infrequently - sometimes only once or twice an hour - but occurs each time the passage is repeated. I am not conscious of any loss of hearing, or of any hearing problem otherwise at all. It is not the hi-fi equipment. Any ideas?

As you have sporadic distortion while listening to music it occur only when you using a headphones. This happens normally when you hear music so loudly with high frequencies through headphones.This is normal and happens to any person when he hear a music with high frequencies and high volume.

If you have additional symptom like tinnitus , ear pain , vertigo ets than consult a good ENT(ear , nose ,throat) surgeon for this.
