What Causes Splotchy Bruises On Lower Back?

I just noticed my lower back is all bruised, kind of splotchy bruised. My back has been hurting but was unaware of it being bruised. I was in a car accident 7 yrs ago and my back was extended and then compressed from being hit from behind. I have been in pain every day since but kind of have gotten use to it. I went to therapy for years. Still do some stretching to get out of bed in the morning. Can t sit to long or stand to long. Or pain is worse. But this sudden bruising is a mystery. I have not recently hurt it or fell or anything? So I have no idea why all of a sudden it is bruised?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Sudden bruises are not in relation to past trauma or other spine related issues. That can be unnoticed bug bite or other sensitivity issue to exposure of unknown substance over the area. Kindly upload a photo picture of the bruise so that I can evaluate it in greater details during your next follow up chat in this chat box.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
