Doctor is right in giving you antibiotics. He must have given you some mind of antiinflammatory or analgesic too. Earlier doctors used to give throat paint of boric acid or so also to act locally. You had blood spitting which may be due to local lesion or out of lungs - it has to be ascertained. Right now there is possibility of local lesion, so I m not advising saline gargles otherwise it will hurt much while gargling. You may, however paint turmeric powder mixed in glycerine on throat by the help of a swab or put turmeric in warm water and gargle 2-3 times. It wouldn t hurt like salt. Turmeric is natural anti inflammatory, bacteriostatic and healer. All your tosillitis, pharyngitis, uvulitis or any other upper respiratory tract will respond to it combined with your doctors current medicine. Wait for inflammation to subside which takes some time and then may meet doctor again. However if there s spitting of blood again further investigation is required. Hope it will be helpful.
