Hello, I would like to know if an endocrinologist would be able to help my daughter. She is 18 years old. She has had headaches, constipation, and joint pain most of her life. She currently takes maxalt or zomig for headaches as a rescue medicine but nothing preventative. She also takes a stool softener and occasionally a laxative. Two years ago, she began to have issues with anxiety. she went on zoloft 200mg and had relief but not complete resolution. One year ago she began having anovulatory bleeding and was put on junel birth control pills. Several days ago she was complaining about her dry skin on her feet and hands. I also noticed that she only has about three armpit hairs. She says that her pubic hair is sparse as well. I am not sure about the genetics but I am of Irish decent and her father is Puerto Rican. She has had a couple of thyroid tests (TSH) over a year ago and was tested for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Could these all be separate issues or should I pursue more information. She is a freshman at college and she is really struggling. I would appreciate your advice.
