What Causes Sour Taste Of Saliva In Mouth During Pregnancy?

Hello, im 37 wks pregnant with low amniotic fluid. This is my first pregnancy, i have this taste in my mouth its like sour saliva it makes me sick like i want to throw up, same feeling when you see something sour saliva builds up some what same feeling but in this case its awful. It happens at night when im laying down...also i have air in throat when i swallow liquid like i want to constantly burp, help please.. Thanks

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. According to symptoms like sour taste of saliva in mouth during pregnancy mention as you mention in query are due to sore throat , post nasal drip , acid reflux or hormonal changes in pregnancy .

So i would suggest you to consult ENT surgeon for sinusitis along with post nasal drip . Doctor may order CT scan or X-ray along with throat swab test and viral culture test.

Doctor may prescribe antibiotics at least for 10 days along with decongestant and mucolytic agents . Doctor may also refer you to gynecologist for hormonal problem

For now keep yourself hydrate by drinking plenty of water and oral redeyhydration solution for electrolyte balance .
