What Causes Soreness Of Nipples With Scabbing?
Hi, i have a very sore nipple and a scab under my nipple on a circular part of my areola. Do i treat this with disinfectant? It is only sensitive around the scab part and nipple because it is right underneath the nipple. It looks a little green under the scab like a knew graze that is healing. Help please ;-)

Hello,
You are suffering from soreness of nipples with scabbing. It is sensitive around the scabs. Such symptoms commonly occur due to friction rub from clothing's, nipple piercing, trauma, infection, thrush, contact dermatitis, hormonal changes, allergy, etc. However, serious medical condition may be indicative of Paget's disease of the nipple.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP / gynecologist, get clinically examined, get mammogram, biopsy (if required), X-ray, blood tests, etc., done. You will be treated accordingly. Do not touch, scratch the area affected. You can take Acetaminophen, one SOS when required to reduce inflammation and soreness. You can apply a thin layer of a mild cream or ointment like Soframycin for relief on the affected area.
Taking oral antihistamine, one SOS at bed time for 3-5 days will be helpful to relieve symptoms of allergy. You are suggested to reduce weight if obese. Do not take alcohol or smoke, stay away from addictions if any.
