I have had a sore throat for 3 weeks and the lymph nodes on front of neck by collar bone is englarged and the glands on side of neck feel like golf balls. My Doctor gave me amoxicillin and this is my fourth day taking it my throat is still sore and my muscles feel week and shaky. My Doctor did not taking any blood tests.
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your sore throat and lympadenopathy.
You need to change the antibiotics and opt for injectable one like fourth generation cephalosporins, because these are mostly sensitive and less in side effect at higher dosage. One thing you must remember that the medication must be changed or taken under the supervision of doctor because there are chances of allergic reaction too.
The enlarged lymph nodes are because of acute infection and will regress with the infection too.
