What Causes Sore Throat, Eye Irritation And Sore Tongue After Zicam Usage?

It all started on Thursday when I woke up with a sore throat on one side of my throat. It had been going around and my mom and a few of my friends had it, I figured it was just a sign that I was about to get a cold. I started to take Zicam orally. On Friday, my eye started to get irritated. Throughout the day it started to ooz out white discharge. I woke up this morning and the very back of my tongue was extremely sore. I went to the doctor today and they gave me a Z-Pak and Eye Drops for my eye. The doctor didn t tell me what exactly was wrong, but I m assuming pink eye. My question is what is wrong with my tongue, is it just a side effect of the zicam? or is it something more serious. Thanks!
