What Causes Sore Throat, Cough, Burning Sensation In The Chest And Reflux?
Last Tuesday I woke up with a sore throat Wednesday I had no voice. Thursday- Saturday I cough so hard I make my self puke. Today the front of my neck hurts to even touch. Went out for lunch today & I can feel the food sitting there. Almost like my chest is burning. The burning sensation was there before. I m not such but this cough is rough. After 5 o clock it seems like anything I eat take or swallow comes back up. Advise?
As per your complain the symptoms that you are explaining seems to be all due to Acid reflux or Gastro-esophageal reflux disease. I would suggest you to consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like upper G.I Endoscopy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.
You can be advised to take Proton Pump Inhibitors like Omeprazole or Pantoprazole. Take antacids like Milk of magnesia. Avoid spicy food and drink plenty of water. Always take walk after meals and take your dinner at least 2 hours before sleep. You should sleep with head slightly raised as compared to feet.
Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks and regards, Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora
