Hi. Thank you for writing to HCM. The infection of the uvula is a common complication of a strep throat. If the pus is too much it may need incision and drainage by an ENT specialist. Antibiotics may not work alone in uvular infections since they are different from throat infections. You may need oral antiseptic mouth washes, anti-inflammatory medications and stronger antibiotics to manage such infections. You may also need blood work up to assess your cell counts and immune status. See your physician or an ENT specialist to manage this. It may not be enough to deal with by self medications.
