What Causes Sore Throat After Choking Up On An Imodium Tablet?

I choked on an large Imodium tablet last night which started dissolving during the process of trying to remove it. Today, my throat is extremely sore and I can barely talk. Common sense tells me to just take it easy and refrain from talking. How long should I wait for the symptoms to go away before seeking an exam by an ENT?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The symptoms should normally resolve within a few days (3 to 4). As you stated, refraining from talking would help.

In addition to this, you may also want to try: (1) avoid spicy or hot foods that may also damage the throat
(2)abrasive foods may also be a problem , so consider soft foods for a few days
(3)use an anti inflammatory pain killer such as naproxen, cataflam or ibuprofen

I hope this helps
