What Causes Sore Throat After A Hernia Repair Surgery?

I had larascopy and hernia repair minor surgery yesterday I was put under general anesthesia. I woke from surgery with a terrible sore throat and phlegm. The sore throat has subsided mostly but I still feel mucus and congestion and it s on the tip of my tonsil it is all white and feels like there is a lot trapped in my throat I can t cough it up .it feels very foreign with a slight sore throat. Is this normal? It felt like strep throat last night but the pain has subsided at least 75%. I m taking levoflaxin. Will this antibiotic kill the phlegm or if it is strep? I didn t want to bother my doctor because it Saturday and there could be worse side effects of the surgery area actually feels quite normal it s just this phlegm I m worried about and sore throat .
