What Causes Sore Throat Affecting Gums And Teeth?

I woke up two days ago with a very very sore throat. I could pinpoint where the pain was on my left side of throat hurts in one specfic spot. now I can feel a lump and it hurts to touch i t from the outside. hurts when I swallow, it almost felt like it was affectingg my gums/teeth to almost my sinus. There is a really bad throat/strep throat going around. Could this be that or should I worry more?

Hi...
Can understand your concern...

As per your complain it seems that you have sore throat along with tonsillitis..
Lump on the side of neck seems to be due to swollen lymph node secondary to infection..
Many a times when you have sore throat it leads to soreness in your ears as throat and ears are connected via Eustachian tube..
Soreness of teeth and gums with sinus affecting seems to be due to sinus infection or sinusitis and as upper teeth lies in close proximity with sinuses therefore inflammation in sinuses can cause sensitivity or pain in gums.

You should visit a ENT doctor and get your throat checked up...

You can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine, do saline nasal irrigation, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room..
You can also be advised decongestant nasal sprays containing Xylometazoline or Oxymetazoline..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
Do warm compresses around nostrils..

I don't think something very serious must be there but you should see a doctor soon..

Hope this helps..

Thanks and regards..
