Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Blood shot eyes are due to tiny blood vessels in the conjunctiva(the top layer of the eyeball) becoming reddened and engorged. There are many causes: numerous bacteria and viruses. Also, a foreign body, e.g. dust or dirt. And allergy. Allergy occurs most often in spring and summer. Signs of allergic conjunctivitis are intense itching, tearing, and avoidance of light. There may also be some mucus secretion and swelling around the eyes due to constant rubbing. To my knowledge conjunctivitis is unrelated to the conditions your son has. You must be a good parent to be raising a child with multiple handicaps. I hope that he is receiving medical care from a number of competent specialists. Allow me to point out a few causes of learning disabilities that ought to be monitored for sure:-shunt dysfunction-vision-hearing Parents who are strong advocates for their child are the best resource for seeing he reaches his maximum potential.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
