What Causes Sore And Painful Throat Post Rectal Colonoscopy?

I had a colonoscopy procedure done today and was put to sleep. The doctor ended up doing a biopsy as well. After awakening from the surgery, I felt okay. This was done by going through the rectum. When I got home, I ve noticed my throat and neck is really sore as if the tube was ran down my throat instead of rectum, I ve not had any blood come out but my rectum is sore maybe from bowel movements perhaps. But, the front of my head has a very bad pressure to it, as if I got the lights knocked out of me. Of course I m worried and just want to know if I should be concerned or is this natural to have pressure on my head and my throat and neck (lymph nodes) hurting???

Hi there..Do not worry...I am not sure what kind of anesthesia you received, general or otherwise....the anaesthetist should have explained that mild sore throat and disturbed bowel movements are a common after effect of anaesthesia. you will recover completely in a day or two.Till then put yourself on soft diet till your bowel is in order.
I hope this answers your question dear.
Take care.
