What Causes Sore And Congested Throat Along With Lingual Thyroid?

Hello. I have a rare condition (lingual thyroid -- my only thyroid), and my neck is stiff and feels like a ball of fluid. My throat is really sore, too, and I feel congested and fluish. Now I have a new symptom that I ve never experienced, and I wonder what could be causing it: thick (feeling), sticky palms. I know I m not in the textbooks, but do you have any ideas? My thyroid bloodwork 10 days ago was low-but- normal TSH and free T4 on the high side of normal at 2.3. Thanks so much.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The narrated symptoms of sore throat, congestion, flushing and thick sticky palm indicate hyperthyroid status through ectopic thyroid in lingual region.

* However, a detailed clinical examination and physical findings co relation with all reports are mandatory before proceeding to any thyroid medications or evaluation of possible surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
