What Causes Smelly Yellow Discharge From Nose?

I have been on penicillin for a week now for a sinus infection. I have a thick yellow pussie looking substance I m blowing from my nose constantly. I have alot of sinus pressure in my forehead. I used sinus buster nasal spray to get some relief at night to open my nose so I can beath. When I blow my nose I can smell the stench and it makes me sick to my stomach. Should I do any testing to make sure it s not something more than a sinus infection?
