What Causes Small White Spots On Tonsils?

Hello, I am experiencing some pain in my throat, I used a flash light on my phone and saw that there were whitish small spots on my tonsils. I was looking up information and it seemed that it could be a few things such as herpes or tonsil stones. I feel that I am have symptoms of both but am unsure. Can you help clarify to a certain extent without seeing them in person? Thank you

Tiny white spots in tonsils may just be inflammation of tonsils (tonsillitis) and those white spots indicated pus in the small glandular tubes of tonsils, This is the most commonest diagnosis for your condition. Though herpes and stones can also present like this, they are very rare and the history should be suggestive. For example, in Herpes, one should have an history of oral sex with an infected person. Therefore, If it is just a simple throat pain with incident finding in the tonsil, it is most likely infection. It will require antibiotics to treat and therefore kindly meet your local doctor to have a look.
