What Causes Small Blisters Inside The Lower Left Eyelid?
I have little tiny blisters that seem to be filled up with water inside my lower left eyelid. Painless. I m concerned on how to treat it or what caused it. I ve used contacts since I was 15 years old and I m now 21, never had anything like this before. I stopped using my contacts since I noticed the blisters, also stopped applying mascara to my eyelashes and stopped using makeup removing wipes, because I ve never used the brand before, maybe it caused the blisters when I removed my eye makeup. What may have caused this? How do I treat it? Should I stop using contacts even if I clean them the right way?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Blisters on inner side of the eye lid can be due to infection or inflammation of sweat glands present along the inner side of the eye lid. The lesions could be due to boils or furunculosis. Contact lenses are unlikely to cause lesion on the eye lid. Contact lens usually affect the conjuctival or corneal surface. However, you can discontinue the use of contact lens and eye make up till the lesions are treated. A clinical assessment is necessary to assess the exact location and nature of the lesion. Treatment can be planned after clinical assessment.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
