What Causes Slow Heart Rate And Dull Headache?

i'm a 40 yr old male 5'9 187 and fairly active. i've worked in a high pressure sales job for 17 yrs now. through the yrs i have noticed a fluttering from time to time that last for a couple of seconds and takes my breath a little. it may be months or or a few weeks between episodes. a couple weeks ago i got the fluttering but it continued on for a few hrs but my heart rate was around 80 bpm. now a couple days ago it came back lasting over 12 hrs. when i check my pulse it is 60's - 80's and i have no pain nor i'm lightheaded with it. when i wake in the mornings it doesn't seem present until i think to check it or get going during the day. it showed back up yesterday and i went on to my family dr and he performed an ekg which was normal. he drew blood to check my thyroid, cholest, ect....i drink very little caffeine. i did take an all night fishing trip a couple weeks back and i seem to still be trying to recover from it. also i have been going through a lot of job related stress causing financial problems i have'nt been used to. i have a dull headache that comes and goes but my blood pressure is running from 115/78 to 130/84. now the worry of health problems is causing anxiety preety badly. any chance this type of condition be considered atrial fibrillation? my heart isn't racing away. by the way i have a history of mild asthma that i control with albuterol and advair. i also had a heart murmur when i was young and had a yrly checkup with cardiologist to age 18. never had restrictions meds or surgeries for it. thanks.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello There

After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that May be you are facing slow heart rate at some times which is why you are feeling lightheaded or dizzy.

Its recommended for you to get an ECG , echocardiography and a Holter Analysis done and consult a cardiologist with reports for further management.

Hopefully this information will guide you properly.

Kind Regards
Dr Bhanu Partap
