HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible, since troponin is specific to the heart that it may have been a minor heart attack particularly with a history of smoking for 27 years.

Smoking is associated with an increased risk of heart disease and the family history of heart disease would increase the risk.

The need for a stent would depend on what is seen on angiogram.
If there is significant blockage of blood supply to the heart then the stents would be needed.

I hope this helps

Hi...welcome to hcm...
If you have high troponin levels and abnormal ECG and chest pain then it is possible that you are having a great attack and if so you may require a stent.
