What Causes Slightly High Temperature In 14 Months Old Baby?

What temperature is consider as fever for a 14 months old baby. My girl is almost 14 months and for last two days her temperature is 99.5 most of the day. When you feel her it seems like she doesn t have any temperature but once you check with ear thermometer it comes about 99.5-99.8. Is is consider as temperature?

Hi,

That depends on where you measured. Axillary temp above 99 can be taken as fever. If only fever, just give Acetaminophen for 2-3 days. This might be a viral illness which usually settles in 2-3 days. Otherwise, or if she develops additional symptoms, we can evaluate further.
