Hello,

You have slight pain in your left breast since a week. You also have numbness in the nipple and areola area. It is good to know that there is no cancer family history. Sometimes, pain or numbness in the breast can be due to compression of small nerve fibers in the chest wall or breast tissue. It causes tingling sensation. To prevent such symptoms, avoid wearing bra for a couple of days.

Always wear bra that is made of soft cotton fabric and fits you properly. Do not wear tight bra. Nipple cracking can also cause numbness, use a lanolin ointment to prevent nipple cracking. Avoid excessive breast stimulation during sex for a couple of days. Examine yourself in front of a mirror, see if you have a lump in the area of pain that does not go away after your periods.

Look for any redness, swelling, nipple discharge, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get all required breast cancer screening tests done to be on the safer side. Early detection is always helpful. Get routine blood tests, mammogram, breast USG, breast MRI done. You may have to get biopsy done if required. Stay away from addictions if any. Get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
