What Causes Sleeplessness With Weakness And Night Sweats?

Over the past two months (following a fall and concussion) I have poor sleep, wake up exhausted, sometimes wake up in the middle of the night sweating uncontrolably and feel like I am going to pass out. I did have a scan and did not have bleeding on the head, fall came from passing out in the middle of the night and I had hit my head several times on my way down, could these be lingering symptoms or something more serious?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi as I can figure out here, your major problems is not able to get a sound and refreshing sleep and sweats during sleep.
A possibility of bad dreams that led to excessive sympathetic activity mediated sweating appears here. it could be secondary to the trauma and stress due to the memories of the fall that you had in recent past.
The weakness could be due to underlying stress.
A psychiatric consultation is advisable here, who would help you to deal with the stres and insomnia. I would suggest him to consider a small dose beta blocker like propranolol and benzodiazepines at night to restore the sleep.

thanks
