My 31 year old son started taking Lyrica a week ago--today was day 8, I believe. He was in a debilitating accident 4 years ago and has been taking Gabapentin since (I m sorry--I don t know spellings, just how prescriptions sound). After the accident, he was diagnosed with PTSD and depression, along with his physical issues. He s been prescribed a variety of prescription treatments and has struggled with drug interactions and insomnia, resulting in some pretty extreme anxiety, at times. He had been functioning pretty well until this weekend. He hasn t slept for 3 days and is unable to function normally. I am wondering if this could be a reaction to the Lyrica. I don t know the name of the antidepressant he is currently taking. He has something to help him sleep (maybe triazolam?), but doesn t take it often because he s afraid he will develop a tolerance for it. And, i believe it doesn t always help when he does take it.
