Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have a panic disorder and bipolar manic depression I take medications including depicote 500 mg and clanazapam 1 mg. Per day. I have three serious issues all involving waking from sleep. I will start with the most occurring to the not so much. Most commonly I wake with a weird feeling through my body and with my hands physically shaking. Usually after a cup of coffee or my medication kicks in it goes completely away and only happens during stressful times in the day but more controllable. Second most common is waking up pouring sweat , literally dripping sweat but stops once I wipe all sweat and change clothing. But I can go back to sleep and wake up in the exact same manner. Least and last common I wake with my underwear wet and kinda sticky. This has times where it happens more than others. I am being treated for the bipolar and panic but would like to know if there could be something else that could be seriously wrong with me. I endure very vivid dreams also time to time. My blood pressure is always normal when I check and I have animia being a male at 130 lbs (for most adult years) 6 ft. Tall and 31 years of age. Is this all normal? Or should I seek other or more help? Thank you and hope to figure out what s actually going on. I only have access to a practitioner and she s not very good at answering these questions.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Depakote is an anti-seizure drug that may be used to treat manic episodes related to bipolar disorder. Clonazepam is also an anti-seizure drug that is also well indicated in the management of panic disorders. Among the side effects of this drug, dizziness, weakness, drowsiness, sweating and shivering...All the symptoms you describe could be side effects if these medication. I will suggest you see your Doctor for evaluation. If need be, you have a dose modification or a change of drugs.I will however say your Doctor will have to evaluate the risks and benefits of the drugs before taking any decision. Hope this will help Best regards
