What Causes Sleeplessness Post Sulfamethoxazole Intake?

my daughter is on sulfamethoxazole-tmp started it yesterday around 5:30. it say s to take it twice a day. then she took it again around 12 pm. She ha been up since 3am this morning pucking none stop. is this because she took to much in a short about of time

Answer: Co-trimoxazole can cause nausea & vomitting and trouble sleeping.

It is also possible that the infection, for which this medication was prescribed, is significantly contributing to her problems. Infection in the body can disrupt sleeping and make one puke.

She needs to consume enough fluids to remain hydrated. In case the vomiting is not stopping, she needs to be taken to the doctor to get clinical assessment of her condition and receive proper treatment for vomiting and the related problems.
