What Causes Sleeplessness And Sleep Apnea While Being Overweight?

Hello my name is heather. My boyfriend doesn t get good sleep. He sleeps for about 1-2 hours then wakes up and can go back to sleep. Then sleeps for about 2 hours before work. He snores loudly, and sometimes stops breathing. He s overweight at about 400 pounds, and we don t make enough money to get him on a proper diet. What can I do to help him?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sleeplessness and sleep apnea while being overweight . Well i would suggest you to consult ENT specialist , who may order sleep study and for proper evaluation of report of sleep study ,without any delay because sleep apnea sometimes leads to heart attack . Doctor may recommend CPAP machine to correct the problem. Doctor may also order nasal endoscopy and CT scan to rule out nasal polyp and anatomical abnormality . I would suggest you to :-

- Along with CPAP machine your should do light exercises.
- Control your diet and lose some weight.
- Start do light exercises like yoga and meditation.
- Try on sleep on side .
