Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to anxiety. Anyway, I would recommend performing some tests (a resting ECG, a complete blood count for anemia, thyroid hormone levels for thyroid gland dysfunction and blood electrolytes for possible imbalance). An ambulatory 24-48 hours ECG monitoring would help examine your heart rhythm trends for a prolonged time and exclude possible cardiac arrhythmia.

If all the above tests result normal, you should consider anxiety as the main cause of your skipped heart beats. In the meantime, I would recommend reducing caffeine and alcohol intake.

Hope to have been helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you good health.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
