What Causes Skin Erosion With Burning Sensation In Mouth?

Hi, it's been over 8 months that I have been dealing with a burning mouth. When ever I eat something with even a little bit of spice my whole mouth sets on fire (every part of tounge, inner cheeks, gums etc slight pain in teeth this has just started recently) also I have developed a rough patch on the roof of my mouth it's been there since the burning started and it seems to be growing but very slowly. My inner cheeks and lips seems to have had lost the lining on most areas. However none of this is visible, my mouth looks completely normal unless focused a lot. My doctor and dentist were unable to identify what the cause is and what is happening, they seem to have no idea. I have an appointment with a specialist in more than a month and I'm just worried it might be something serious. Could you please help me identify this problem and what might be causing it? Thank you.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms you are suffering from BURNING MOUTH SYNDROME and as you also have peeling of the mucosa it seems secondary to a condition known as DRY MOUTH..
Few other common causes of burning mouth syndrome are hormonal changes [like in diabetes and thyroid problem], allergy to certain foods or dental products or medicines like those use to lower blood pressure, acid reflux, oral thrush which is yeast infection, nutritional deficiency of iron and vitamin B12 while at times can be due to unknown causes..

Nothing to worry consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and treatment can be planned according to the cause..

As of now do cold water gargles and such on ice pops for relief..
Avoid hot, spicy and acidic foods..
Take a soft and bland diet..
Maintain a good oral hygiene..
Drink plenty of cold water ..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
