What Causes Skin Discoloration Around The Knees?
I need knee replacement and have severe pain in knee but cannot have surgery because of other conditions. Recently I have noticed a blotched, mottled appearance to the skin at that knee. I use a heating pad to help pain. What can be the cause of this change to the skin coloring?

As a first line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like betamethasone for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.
