Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

Pregnancy symptoms vary widely between women, and many of the same symptoms people associate with pregnancy like spotting, breast tenderness, bloating, nausea and urinary frequency can be caused as a side effect of hormonal birth control.

So your symptoms are not unusual with a long acting birth control method, especially those that stop your period.

When you do get a menstrual period, many of these symptoms will disappear.

I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today and that my advice was helpful.

Best wishes,

Dr. Brown
