What Causes Shoulder Pain After Rotator Cuff Surgery?

I had shoulder rotator cuff repair and about 7 months after the surgery I was getting pain in my shoulder when reaching. It felt like it was going to snap. When I told the Doctor this he gave me a cortisone shot. The next day I picked up my 3 lb puppy and my bicep completely detached and ruptured. Did the cortisone cause this?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
No Cortisol injection can not cause this.
By your history and description, possibility instability of shoulder joint is more likely.
This is mostly due to poor strength of rotator cuff muscles.
So you need to get done physiotherapy to strengthen rotator cuff muscles power.
Don't worry, you will be alright with appropriate physiotherapy.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
