What Causes Shortness Of Breath?

I have been having intermittent shortness of breath, both at work and home, while resting and while active. I am still able to work out (swim, walk, lift weights, cross-country ski) but worried something may be wrong. I am in excellent health otherwise, don t smoke, drink alcohol only occasionally, not overweight (5 4 122 lbs).

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Shortness of breath be related to many medical conditions.
I recommend to do some examinations for further evaluation I recommend to do a chest X-ray and an electrocardiogram to exclude cardiac and lung issues.
If this issues are excluded the shortness of breath can also be related to anxiety.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
