What Causes Shortness Of Breath Upon Exertion?

I have sob upon exertion. Have had it for years was on beta blockers - very helpful. They were discontinued thiswas in the late 80 s. Echocardiogram was detected. treated very effective for years with a beta blocker. Med dec when mitral valve not detected. Symptoms got worse along with allergies. have benn having desentization shots - helpful for allergiic reactions and some asthmatic symptoms. Given all the tx, I can t do a slow run 1/2 a block. I think my mitral valve is worse. Thoughts?

The allergic shots should help decrease your sensitivity to the different allergens.
It is possible that there is worsening of your heart disease if the shortness of breath is worsening but to determine if this is the case, you would need to be reviewed by your doctor. A repeat echo to take a look at the function of the heart, may also be necessary as well.
