What Causes Shooting Pain In Breast Seven Months After Discontinuing Breast Feeding?

I stopped breastfeeding 7 months ago, occasionally get the letdown feeling but no longer produce more than droplets. In the past month I started having shooting pain in my right breast, last week it was an intense aching pain, now my nipples are peeling like they did while I was pregnant. What s going on with my breasts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your experience with intense heavy pain at your right breast and peeling of your nipple I will suggest you are developing a post lactational mastitis

In view of this please do a mammography and breast scan to rule out any malignancy

Meanwhile please take the following pending the outcome of the test result Tablet nurofen Ciprofloxacin

I hope this helps Regards
