What Causes Shooting Pain In Arms And Legs Along With Twitching?

Hi, I m a 35 year old female. I ve been seeing my current Dr for about 8 months. I have shooting pain in my arms and legs with random moments of weakness. Now my arms and legs are also twitching. I have tried about every medication for neuropathy. All blood work looks good. MRI of lower back is fine. Haven t yet been referred to neurology. I m concerned that there has to be a cause and I m not getting it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If there is no neurogenic symptom. I suspect calcium and vitamin D deficiency causing muscular pains and cramps with muscle pulls to cause prolonged pain. Blood calcium and vitamin D levels as well as X-ray of cervical and lumber spine (to exclude spondylosis) would confirm the diagnosis. It is to be followed by needful supplementation of the deficient elements. For detailed physical test and prescribtion- of suitable dosage, please consult your family physician.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
