What Causes Sharp Stabbing Pain In The Chest?

Hi.yes I am 50 years old.I seem to get like one sharp pain on the left hand side of my chest.this happens at least four times a day and then I can be fine a week later.then it happens again.this has been on and off for 2 months now.it's a sharp stabbing pain and happens alot while resting.I am a female.I do seem to sweat more at night time.should I get this checked.my blood pressure is normal.

Hello dear
I understand your concern
Your symptoms could be due to costochondritis/musculoskeletal pain , cardiac problem, pancreatitis, pulmonary cause/pleuritis, anxiety.
I would suggest to consult internal medicine specialist and undergo examination, ECG, chest X ray, routine blood tests, CK, amylase.
If all tests will come normal then pain could be due to musculoskeletal pain , anxiety.
Meanwhile take
Tablet DAN-MR
Tablet rantac
Apply warm pad application,
Other specific cause depend on cause
Do regular exercise, eat healthy diet, drink plenty of water
