What Causes Sharp Pain In Ring Finger Knuckle?

Hello, Today I have had a sharp pain in my right ring finger knuckle lasting only a minute or two. One episode was very early this morning like 5:30 AM the second time was just a few minutes ago. This doesn t happen very often but when it does it is always in the same hand and either in the middle finger knuckle or ring finger knuckle but the pain is sharp enough to make me scream but only lasts about 30secs- to 1 minute then its gone and I may not have another episode for days or months
