Hello and welcome to HCM,
Pain at the bottom of the sternum can be due to gastric problem.
Gastritis, indigestion, reflux can be responsible for the pain at the base of sternum.
A X-ray of chest is also required to assess the presence of any lesion in the chest.
A clinical assessment is required to determine the cause of pain at the pain of sternum- whether it is from gastrointestinal tract (GIT) or respiratory tract any other structure in the mediastinum.
An endoscopy may be required to assess the condition of esophagus and stomach for presence of any ulcer, erosion or hernia.
Ig any of these lesions is present, appropriate management can be planned.

Thanks and take care
