A thorough clinical neuromuscular assessment is advised.
As you have a sharp shooting pain and numbrness you need to undergo a Neuromuscular assessment along with MRI of lumbar spine as this may be due to pinched nerve.
post which taking a physical therapy like therapeutic ultrasound therapy and TENS therapy will help reduce the pain. Later stages exercises will be implemented to improve the stability of the spine and strengthening of the muscle to improve the quality of life.
As your symptoms are classical for suspecting the pinched nerve I will recommend to undergo physical therapy
in my clinical experience patients with similar complaints are majorly having pinched nerve and respond well to physical therapy.
